With a few of my cousins and siblings, circa 1963. We shared measles, mumps, and/or chicken pox and lived to tell the tale.

Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Foods, UVM, 1982. No one thought much about meds for anything; flu, meningitis, and other infectious diseases on campus were not regarded or experienced as the threats they are today.

1988: Celebrating graduation at University of Hawaii School of Public Health, new master's degrees in hand, with a classmate who went on to enjoy a career with the CDC.
